Venture Guides 2024 Leadership in Technology Award

We recently hosted our 2nd Annual Investor Meeting at our Boston office, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to our Limited Partners, portfolio leaders, and friends of the firm for joining us. The last week has been full of engaging discussions regarding the growing value and awareness of infrastructure software (IS), the present and future of AI in IS, and the progress we have made in guiding some of the most disruptive companies in the domain. Over the last year, we have seen the Boston office grow into a hub of activity and fast learning, full of experienced leadership and developing talent. Our portfolio has made exceptional progress, with each company achieving significant milestones towards supporting customers and returning value to our investors.

At the meeting, we were also thrilled to announce the Venture Guides’ Leadership in Technology Award recipient, Jack Sweeney. Jack is a 8x CEO, Venture Guides Advisor and Investor, and a long-standing leader in the enterprise tech community. The Leadership in Technology Award celebrates individuals who elevate their teams to consistently drive successful outcomes in technology, business innovation, and in support of their broader communities.  Many accredit Jack’s successes to his ability to lead and motivate his teammates, and while he may do so exceptionally, he is, by nature, a collaborator. Jack elevates the voices of those around him to incorporate new perspectives into his decision-making and to stay adaptable.

No individual, nor organization, can make every decision perfectly, and when you prioritize collaboration, you must also foster a culture of psychological safety. Open communication and active listening are at the heart of Sweeney’s leadership philosophy and are also core to who he is. Jack’s ethos bleeds into every interaction he has; sometimes stern, and otherwise jovial, in every meeting, one never doubts that Jack has the best interest of the team in mind.

Jack’s wisdom is an invaluable asset to Venture Guides and to all who work with him. His unwavering commitment to customer service and team success makes him a uniquely qualified leader and an obvious recipient of this year’s Venture Guides Leadership in Technology award. Congratulations, Jack!
